4th Graders are Flying to New Heights!

Our flight unit is in full force! These past two weeks, 4th graders have been exploring vocabulary and the forces of flight. We researched man's inspiration for flight: the bird. Student groups presented on the topics of the bird's feathers, wing shape (airfoil), skeletal/muscular structure, and digestive system. Looking ahead to next week, we will classify these characteristics and see how the bird's incredible design helps take on the forces of flight!
